About Silver Tree Farm
Quoting Langston Hughes, “Hold Fast To Dreams”, Silver Tree Farm has been our family’s dream and our reality for decades. We have steadfastly raised quality horses of different disciplines, respecting the individual traits and talents of each. We landed firmly on Hunter Under Saddle as our main focus in early 2002. Our farm is a happy and humble retreat, and located just minutes, and miles (3.2) from World Equestrian Center. Ocala is not only the most desirable location for any equine related activity, but the soil on our land is specifically rich in nutrients (calcium, limestone etc.) and with the mild climate added, our foals grow large and strong.
Years of Experience
Over thirty years of breeding experience has led us to where we are today. Time has brought with it, highs and lows, ups and downs, but most of all knowledge and the willingness to continue. Our foals are several generations in the making and are competitive at any level. Striving for the best, while maintaining a healthy and stable environment for the mares and their foals under our care, has been our primary goal. The respect that we have for our horses is based on the same respect we hold for each other as a family. Primarily we have raised Quarter Horses, however, Paints, Appaloosas and the occasional TB have now added to our program.
Our Story
A strong family unit has been the root of our beginnings in breeding horses. As most worthwhile endeavors, it all began with hopes and aspirations. We needed an activity that we could all share and participate in. As most families find, it all began with riding lessons, ownership, maintenance, camps, 4H and riding clubs. Hours became days, and days became weeks of hard work, unprecedented joy and many lessons learned along the way. Our true joy comes from breeding and raising world class prospects, showhorses, and bloodlines that have substance. The foundations that were established in the early years have provided us with the bloodlines and ethics we carry forth today. Reflecting these principles, our horses are respected and valued, and we strive to continue breeding for the rare combination of conformation, temperament, durability, and ideal size. Moving into the future, our goal is to maintain a family partnership and a healthy environment for our operation. Through the years, we have made numerous friends and lasting memories. We hope to form the same type of relationship with every transfer made. Earning your trust is a priority of ours. Likewise, transparency and communication is an important reason why we have return customers and referrals.
Foals to Future Champions
Many great horses have begun their lives here with us, and we live for the moments when they shine. Focusing on quality and not quantity, we raise a few select foals each year. Producing champions from many disciplines, we may just have the perfect choice for you and your family’s breeding program or business. Embryo options are also available on some of our mares.
